Summary report on INVEST-HOTEL, Poland's largest trade fair of hotel furnishings
The 11th Hotel Equipment Trade Fair Invest-Hotel 2009 took place in Poznań on 21-24 October. Almost 160 companies presented their offers on the exposition area exceeding 12,000 m2 in Pavilions 3 and 3A. The expositions of INVEST-HOTEL and the simultaneously held TOUR-SALON were visited by 25,000 attendees, including approx. 12,000 professionals visiting the show on the first two days.
Original exposition
INVEST-HOTEL was held on 21-24 October 2009 and turned out to be a great success. The exposition area reached as much as 12,000 m2. This is almost 30% more than last year. Over 160 suppliers of products and services for hotels, guesthouses, holiday centres, conference rooms, wellness and SPA centres showcased their proposals. This year's scope of the fair was divided into: hotel room, hotel bathroom and hotel services, including reception desk, restaurant, conference room and SPA&Wellness in hotels. The largest furniture sector leaders also presented their offers. Furniture manufacturers perceive the hotel market as very attractive, which is evidenced by the presence of the following companies at this year's show: Kler, Klose, Famos, Meble Jarocin, Meble VOX, JMB, Mebin, Meblotap, Taranko, Tombea, Fabryka Mebli Ryś, Bejot, Dąb, Wilimex. Their expositions attracted visitors with their originality and refined taste. Producers of hotel bathroom furnishings, such as Klafs, Ceramika Paradyż, Cermag and other also showcased their offers at the fair.
Meeting INVESTors
The Poznań-based show was once again a venue for business talks between investors and representatives of the hotel industry. The show was a good place to establish new contacts for INVEST-HOTEL exhibitors. Numerous investors visited trade fair stands and the agendas of the trade fair participants filled with new contacts. A trade fair is an investment that brings results in the future.
From briefing to marketing - a program of events
A press briefing was organised on the first trade fair day. The organisers and representatives of Klose, Meble Vox, Polmaster, Balma (companies exhibiting at INVEST-HOTEL) discussed the condition of businesses from the hotel and furniture industries, results of the downturn in the sector and preparations for EURO 2012.
Because INVEST-HOTEL is mainly a show of hotel investments, investors coming to the fair could obtain free-of-charge advice about planned hotel investments in the Project Hotel Consultancy Point and learn about the basic rules for creating a hotel investment project. The seminar entitled "ABC of a Hotel Investor" provided information about planning investment budgets, financing hotel investments and obtaining EU funds. You could also meet and talk to experts from the hotel sector who implemented their hotel projects. They participated in the Hotel Investment Forum organised by Polmaster. A seminar on "Success in the SPA business" was addressed to all those planning to launch a spa hotel. Experts from the Polish SPA and Wellness Institute shared their knowledge about ways to create an original and unique SPA centre and to select furnishings and cosmetics fitting the centre's business concept. One of the key points of the agenda was the conference entitled: "E-ffective marketing in tourism and hotel industry" organised together with HotelNews.pl. The meeting featured independent experts who presented the latest research and trends in e-marketing addressed to representatives of tourism and hotel industry. The E-ffective Marketing Conference showed how important search engines are in marketing strategies of hotels and tourist companies. The topics proved inspiring and were welcomed by participants, including representatives of the tourism sector from Ukraine, the Netherlands and Germany. Moreover, the conference was accompanied by the Good Side of Tourism Vote for the best and the most interesting websites identified by online marketing practitioners.
New offers at the fair
Tens of new products and hotel services were launched during INVEST-HOTEL. They included new collections of hotel furniture. One of them was presented by Klose, a first-time exhibitor at INVEST-HOTEL. Klose presented a hotel furniture system based on solids in two collections: Lanao, a modern one and Rafael, a classic one. A tasteful exposition of Famos, which received the Acanthus Aureus Award, presented a modern set of hotel furniture with an interesting combination of veneer with genuine leather in conspicuous colours and glass. Kler received the MTP Gold Medal for a modern and comfortable collection of hotel furniture KLER KHD 031. The visitors were stunned by a modern and spectacular exposition by SUSZEK DESIGN. Planika, on the other hand, presented unique interior decoration products that use fire in combination with cool concrete. "Tables on fire", lanterns and furnaces offered by the company are a perfect solution for "introducing" fire to gardens, terraces or patios. SPA&WELLNESS products dominated among new offers alongside hotel furniture collections. Absolute market premieres included a tub for dry baths in warm salt for whole-body massage by Biosana and extremely effective anti-aging devices for aesthetic medicine studios by Nova2Chmielewscy.
A conference room - a significant part of hotel furnishings
The visitors to this year's INVEST-HOTEL could enter Pavilion 3A to admire a "model conference room" constructed especially for the fair. It was a venue for conferences and specialist workshops, such as "The hotel conference room" organised in cooperation with ProjektHotel. Speakers discussed the best ways to design and furnish a conference room in a hotel. A presentation of furnishings and finishing materials for conference rooms was held simultaneously. The conference was very popular - a well-equipped conference room adds to the hotel's prestige and positively influences the number of guests. The conference room was adjacent to a special exposition with sections matching hotel furnishing elements: a reception desk, a restaurant, an amusement arcade and fitness equipment.
